The Neo and Neo XL fabric colour fans for colour consulting have been developed since 2012 in close cooperation with marion zens | komood and komood.shop are manufactured by hand. This not only gives us the opportunity to configure our products in the best possible way, but also to respond flexibly to customer wishes. The "Textile colour fan" experience

Komood exclusively produces real fabric colour fans for colour consulting. The closest possible proximity to the reference medium (textiles) is combined with innovation and practicality in these products.

In addition to the consistent choice of materials, these colour passports are very easy to use. Textile and matt card surfaces with smooth, glossy backs ensure a wide range of applications. At the same time, this combination enables particularly convenient fanning, which is probably unique in this form.

Development and production

This colour pass Winter Neo XL is a product of Komood, Marion Zens. Most of the production is done by hand.

Specially suitable and prepared cotton fabrics from different manufacturers are used for the colour charts. Changes in their range may therefore necessitate adjustments to the colour sorting. Some colour cards are made of mixed fabrics, e.g. to represent metallic shades.

The colours

The Komood system

The selection and combination of colours for each individual product is one of Komood's core competencies. In addition to its professional eye and the knowledge and experience gained from its own many years of consulting work, Komood also values the direct feedback from experienced consulting customers.

Komood is based on the colour wheel in order to provide each colour-typed product with a comprehensible and broad spectrum of colours. Another special feature of Komood is that the respective colour palettes are specially averaged and weighted. Specifically, the characteristics on which each colour type is based are adhered to, but the colour combinations are not purely theoretical, but very much practice-oriented. This focus on user-friendliness is based in particular on years of expertise in colour and style consulting as well as the consideration of general visual habits and preferences in connection with the colour ranges usually found in the trade.

Changes and deviations

Due to changes in material suppliers, it is necessary to adjust colour assignments from time to time. Komood has developed its own multi-stage procedure for this, which ensures a type-compliant and balanced colour selection at all times.

Occasionally, individual colours have to be replaced by other colours for technical reasons. In these cases, the colours of individual colour cards and the colour sorting may differ from the product images, particularly in the case of colour fans.

The colour display

Dealing with colours is a particular challenge for our eyesight. If you move around in nature, a certain leaf green appears differently in diffuse daylight than it does in direct sunlight or at dusk. External factors, such as light and surroundings, but also the eyesight of the person looking at it, create different perceptions of a colour.

When displaying colours on monitors and prints, there are additional influencing factors. These include technical limitations in colour reproduction caused by certain colour spaces (RGB, CMYK, etc.). We have more or less got used to these. The individual settings for colour reproduction on screens are usually more problematic. Adjustments to saturation, luminosity or contrast alone can distort natural colours considerably. The use of modern eye protection filters also changes the entire colour spectrum of the monitor display.

The presentation of our products in the web shop is based on a mediated representation between the natural image and the perception on the monitor.

Fast, well-packaged delivery. Good fabric fan, easier for me to handle in terms of colour than the small EC cards, which are very handy, but the material makes the colours duller.
At first, I thought the 30-colour fan would be enough, but there are some colours here that suit me really well.
The brief description of the type, including suitable base, accent, hair and glasses colours, is also helpful in the fan. I was surprised by some of the warm colours in the selection, which make me look like quark with spit... maybe I'm more of a winter-summer mixed type after all...
Now it's time to give it a go. With these tools, it should work well.

This product contains a binding with a book screw, the two parts of which have been glued together to prevent loss. However, it cannot be ruled out that the parts of the book screw may come loose from each other and thus become small parts that can be swallowed. We therefore recommend keeping this product out of the reach of small children.

The surfaces of the book screw are made of brass and/or nickel, depending on the colour type. Both metals can cause allergic reactions on contact with the skin.

The product can be disposed of in the residual waste bin. For reasons of sustainability, however, we recommend passing on usable items to interested people.
